Tony Miliano has been named the Big East's special teams player of the week after his performance in the win against Miami on Saturday.
Miliano was named BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week after he scored 10 points as part of the Bearcats’ BIG EAST-leading seventh straight win, a 52-14 decision against Miami (Ohio). He scored six points in the first half, with a field goal and three PATs, to help the Bearcats take a 24-6 lead into halftime.
Miliano is 6-8 on the season on field goals, and 16 of 17 on PAT's. In short Miliano has made a semi-leap, and that leap is a big reason why the Bearcats have arguably the best special teams in the conference. Also making the watchlist, Leaping George Winn and Camerron Cheatham. Winn turned in another workmanlike 120 yard, two TD game. Cam channeled his inner Mike Mickens, jumped a drag in the flats and returned the pick 68 yards for the Bearcats first defensive score of the year.
