The Bearcats can go a long way to securing and NCAA tournament birth today with a win over South Florida in their transplanted home, the Tampa Bay Times Forum. There are multiple tourny implications for this game. A win puts UC into a tie with Georgetown for 4th in the Big East and the double bye in the Garden. Remember UC has the tiebreaker in hand against the Hoyas.
The Bearcats and the Bulls are actually pretty similar teams from a statistical perspective. The main differences between the two squads are that South Florida turns the ball over at a much higher clip. The Bulls also get to the line far more often than the Bearcats. Other than that these are two pretty even teams. One last key before we get to the gamethread. The team that controls the pace of the game wins this. UC as a team has shown, Thursday in fact, that they are capable of playing the slow grind it out style that the Bulls prefer. It would be wise to push the temp at every available chance against the Bulls.
