Sean Kilpatrick Named To A Handful Of All America Teams

NBC Sports College Basketball Talk named him to their first team, as did Bleacher Report and The Sporting News. Being named a first team All American is always an honor, no matter the source. The one that really matters is the Sporting News, which is one of the major components of the consensus system. The other components are the Associated Press, United States Basketball Writers Association, and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Rob Dauster compiled the list for NBC Sports is a member of the USBWA, as is Jason King who handled the selections for B/R. So they are voting members, and that shows some early support for Sean Kilpatrick as a consensus All American. If past years are any indication the teams for the other three components won't be released for another couple of weeks.

As for Kila I have been saying the same thing for most of the last month with each new milestone he passes as he winds down his career. It is great for him to be recognized, finally, for being as good as he has been during his career. He has made a pretty damn compelling case to be on the UC basketball Mount Rushmore.
