Cincinnati is 2-1, but things feel worse than that, don't they? The Bearcats blew out Alabama A&M in Week 1, fell to Temple in Week 2 and barely got out of Oxford, Ohio with a win last week and now, Cincinnati must travel to Memphis, Tenn. to take on the 3-0 Memphis Tigers. Quarterback Paxton Lynch leads a Tigers' offense that has been unstoppable in the early going this season, invoking visions of what Cincinnati fans had hoped to see from their highly-talented offensive unit.
Quarterback Gunner Kiel is supposed to play, but the biggest question mark for the Bearcats this week is centered around a defensive unit that struggled against the Miami RedHawks last week and now must someway, somehow, limit a Memphis offense that has averaged 54 points per game. Cincinnati isn't a favorite for this week's matchup, but if the Bearcats can finally piece together a complete game in each phase (offense, defense, special teams), then Cincinnati could surprise on the road.
It should be interesting to watch.
