- Series History: On Thursday night, Cincinnati and Marshall face off for the 33rd time in school history. The Bearcats lead the all-time series 20-12 and are 15-3 when playing in Cincinnati. Their last meeting came in December of 2012. The Bearcats won the matchup 72-56.
Following their dominant 119-68 win against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, the Cincinnati Bearcats (9-2) hope to continue their winning ways against the Marshall Thundering Herd (7-4). Marshall is coming off an 89-99 loss to the Zips out of Akron. This is Cincinnati’s last preparation game before their first American Athletic Conference game of the season against Temple on Dec. 28.
The Bearcats will be trying to win their eighth consecutive game at home and notch their 10th win of the young season. Marshall is winless away from the Cam Henderson Center (0-4) with recent road losses to Ohio and Akron. Although it’s a far tougher matchup than the Bearcats last meeting with Fairleigh Dickinson, Cincinnati should still use this game to develop and enhance their bench play in preparation for their trip to the Temple.
