While we are all adjusting back to the work week, the Cincinnati Bearcats landed yet another football recruit for the 2017 class. Tyrone Chambers, a defensive tackle from Cleveland, announced via Twitter that he will be traveling south from the city of LeBron and the current NBA champions to attend the University of Cincinnati.
Its nice to see Chambers shout out Tommy Tuberville by name, showing that Cincinnati is making it a priority to recruit close to home. Including Chambers, three of the last four commitments to UC have come from the Buckeye State.
Chambers stands at 6'5" and weighs in at an impressive 325 pounds. He is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports and rated the No. 56 recruit in the state of Ohio. He is also a top 100 recruit at his position, ranking No. 81. UC offered Chambers on June 5, following his attendance at one of several camps for potential recruits. Chambers attended camp at Michigan State in the interim, but did not receive an offer from Sparty. He did have other options, however, with 10 total offers on the table, including ones from Iowa State, Purdue and a gaggle of programs from Ohio (Bowling Green, Akron, Miami, Ohio U and Toledo).

Last week, UC got commitments from four other recruits in tight end Wil Huber, offensive tackle Cody Lamb, kicker Cole Smith and defensive end Jamal Hines. Along with those two, Tuberville's staff now has added 10 hard commits to the 2017 class. Chambers joins Huber, Smith and Hines as well as quarterback Desmond Ridder, running back Jaelen Greene, wide receiver Jordan Merrell, athlete Jalen Walker and offensive lineman Blake Yager.
