Big 12 Signs Up Cincinnati. Cincinnati Rejoices

If you knew Cincy, like I know Cincy, oh what an evening you’d be having.

The Bearcats were left out of the College Football Playoffs last season largely because they didn’t belong to a power conference.

Starting in 2024, apparently, this will no longer be a concern of our beloved Cincinnati Bearcats.

Cincinnati, the University of Central Florida, Houston, and Brigham Young University have all been approved for membership in the Big 12.

This was a pragmatic move by Cincinnati to put its athletic programs in the best postion, particularly its football program, to compete on the national stage.

The story of Cincinnati’s departure from the AAC and move to the Big 12 has many chapters left to be written. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for Bearcats fans hoping to cement their team’s permanent place in the national conversation.
