RJ Potts received interest from a number of major programs during his recruiting process. Luke Fickell and his staff got him to commit to Cincinnati and today he signed his national letter of intent with the Bearcats.

Potts, a four-star recruit, is a major get for the Bearcats and it appears we already have an idea of where he will play. Although he is listed as a safety on most recruiting sites, UC's graphic indicates that he will play linebacker. UC has some precedent with converting safeties to linebacker, like the Bearcats did last season with Mike Tyson. Having a skilled defender like Potts will help Fickell, a defensive-minded coach, build the program he wants at UC.
Potts is a 6'2", 199-pound prospect from Fishers, Indiana. He got offers from Nebraska, Notre Dame and Missouri, among others.
