We here at Down The Drive don't usually quote exclusively from links but I make an exception for Butch Jones
"At this stage of the game, he’s probably the most focused individual I’ve been around in a long time from all aspects, from off the field and his leadership qualities, to on the field the demands of his teammates, demands of himself," Jones said. "He’s turned into a dynamic leader. Seeing the maturity level and the success that Derek Wolfe and John Hughes had last year has really propelled him to another level from his work ethic to his attitude to his conditioning to expectations, not only of himself but to his teammates. He’s really leading this football team right now."
My biggest concern with the defense this year wasn't replacing the production of J.K. Schaffer, though that is obviously still a concern, but the leadership of J.K.. Hearing Butch Jones talk in these terms about Walt has me borderline excited about the defense for the first time since 2008. This comment from Butch really echos what I have been hearing behind the scenes as well. Walt has nearly complete ownership of this defense now, that is obviously a good thing to have in place before Fall camp even comes around.
Shockingly Bill Koch is about two weeks behind the times in asking what the hell is going on with Chris Obekpa? Just to review the answer to the question is no one really knows. He has still yet to take his planned visit to Nike Oregon. Those in the know still say that UC is the most likely destination, but St. John's has been rumored to be reentering the chase. If you put a gun to my head and asked me if Obekpa winds up in Clifton right now I would say no. The Bearcats have been the presumptive favorites with him for so long, months and months in fact, and yet it hasn't happened. In Basketball this situations never work out for the school that everyone assumes will land a kid. Statistically that's not true, but it feels true.

I know I just said UC won't land Obekpa, but can you imagine him playing for UC. All you really need to watch is the first two minutes of this video.
