Butch Jones and the Bearcats are having trouble with the numbers game. This is a subject that will continue to be a topic of conversation for the next two months or so. At the time of writing the over signing post the Bearcats were over the 85 man NCAA imposed rule by 7 with 29 commitments on the books.
Briding that 7 man gap got easier by two with the revelation that True Freshmen Shaq Washington and Stephen Weatherford are transferring. Neither are listed on UC's official roster anymore. Both guys were in for spring practice, Washington in January, Weatherford in March.
Washington was expected to contribute early but it never really came off. He played in 5 games, though none after the first of October and caught 3 balls for 14 yards. It is expected that Washington will seek a transfer closer to the Cleveland area where he grew up. Akron, Kent or Youngstown State would be my speculation
Weatherford was slated to red shirt from the beginning. But UC was sitting at 7 QB's with two more coming in the writing was on the wall for one of the QB's. I have no idea where Weatherford will wind up though, I haven't heard much on it either.
