The Bearcats have been in Memphis for two days now and this weekends contest is bearing down on us all. The rest of the week, outside of tomorrow is bound to be Football centric and this Wednesday is obviously going to fit into that general description. Lets hit the jump off.
Binns is not the only NFL receiver that Chisum has ties to. In his senior year at Sandy Creek, Alex caught 69 passes for 1,426 yards and 11 touchdowns, breaking three school records held by Detroit Lions star Calvin "Megatron" Johnson.
Get ready to hear every conceivable iteration of this paragraph for the next three years because Alex Chisum is going to be a good one.
UC has sold nearly 10,000 of its allotted 12,000 tickets for the Liberty Bowl against Vanderbilt on New Year’s Eve (3:30 p.m.) in Memphis, UC associate AD/communications Doug Mosley said today. Tickets are $50 apiece.
UC is really developing a reputation as a traveling fan base. As reputations go thats a great one to have.
With all the planning involved in a bowl trip, unexpected twists still can pop up. Steady rain caused Vanderbilt to move its first Memphis practice indoors on Monday night, but the wet weather didn’t appear to dampen the Commodores’ spirits.
The Bearcats were indoors on Monday as well, 5 miles away at the University of Memphis's indoor facility. Vanderbilt is at the Memphis University School, home of current Bearcat commit Alex Dale.

"That has been an issue for him," said Coach Cronin. "For a guy like SK that has never been an issue. For a guy like Dion that has been an issue his whole career. He has not always been a self-starter. That is where Cash has really helped the guys. You can't just say, 'Well that is just Dion.' No we have to have him playing hard." Dixon has matured greatly at UC. Where it was plenty two years ago for Dixon to hit a few shots and check out now they need more. They need him to "raise" the Baby Bearcats.
Dion Dixon has gone somewhat overlooked during the last four games. Primarily because Cashmere Wright has been so good. But Dixon has really picked things up on defense and in rebounding. UC will need big games from Dixon if they want to beat Oklahoma and Pitt.

I find this to be particularly relevant given the news yesterday about the new helmet paint scheme and the cleats and the uniforms. There is a sizable portion of the Bearcats Nation that hate this kind of stuff. But it definitely has its purpose. There will be some more on this up later today.
