Running Back | Letters 1991-93

If you ask a Bearcat fan who the best running back in school history the same names are likely to come up again and again. DeMarco McKlesky, Allen Harvin, Reggie Taylor, and Isaiah Pead. That is the top four in some order depending on the age of the Bearcat in question. David Small's name is not likely to come up, which is a shame because he had a hell of a run as the focal point of Tim Murphy's offense in the early 90's.

Small might have been an apt description for him but he did produce big numbers. He had 14 100 yard games including 4 straight in 1991 and 5 straight in 1993, his 17 TD Senior season is still the top single season mark and he is the only back in UC history with 4 or more 200 yard rushing efforts, no one else has more than two. Excuse the pun but Small played big for the Bearcats.
