Justin Jackson Day To Day With Ankle Injury

The injury that kept Justin Jackson out of the majority of the game against Temple has him listed day to day. Its been a few years since the eyes of Bearcat nation were so fiercely trained on an ankle.

Justin Jackson has become the talismanic force to be reckoned with for every Cincinnati opponent. He has long been the heart of the Bearcats smothering defense, the only true rim protector and the best rebounder on the team. More than that a larger share of the offense is derived from his play in the post where he has become a force off the bounce who commands double teams and is a gifted enough passer to make defenses pay for overplaying him. All of which makes his ankle injury since Zach Collaros went down with a broken ankle against West Virginia.

The latest word on Jackson is that he is day to day, and therefore not yet ruled out for the game against the Cardinals. It goes without saying that if Jackson is out for the Louisville game that becomes an automatic L. With Jermaine Lawrence still out the Bearcats now have one healthy post, Dave Nyarsuk. Big Dave can do some things for this team, he simply can't do what the Bearcats have come to rely on Jackson for. Defense, post offense, passing, energy, and rebounding.

So now we wait.
