- Series history: This is not what you’d call a storied rivalry. Cincinnati has hosted Texas Southern three times and those are the only matchups that have occurred between them. The most recent contest, which took place duyring the 2009-10 season, ended in a 94-57 win for UC, which has won all three meetings by an average margin of victory of 37 points.
After having a five-game winning streak put to an end on the road against Butler this past Saturday, the Cincinnati Bearcats will begin a three-game homestand as it prepares for American Athletic Conference play. At 7-2, UC will face Fairleigh Dickinson and Marshall at Fifth Third Arena following this matchup, all as a lead-up its AAC opener at Temple on Dec. 28.
TSU is a middling 4-5 this season and is fighting its way through a 16-game roadtrip. This is stop No. 10 on that stretch, which has featured losses in each of the last four games for the Tigers, including Saturday’s 102-71 setback against No. 11 Louisville.
