With the regular season officially wrapping up, here are your Week 18 AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls. Kansas holds the top spot in both polls with Michigan State No. 2 in the AP Poll (No. 3 in the Coaches) and Villanova No. 2 in the Coaches Poll (No. 3 in the AP). Virginia is No. 4 this week in both polls and Xavier is No. 5.
Cincinnati finds themselves on the board, receiving votes in both polls, following a week where the Bearcats went 1-1. Cincinnati was caught sleeping against a hot Houston squad Thursday, but bounced back to beat No. 25 (previously No. 24) SMU yesterday, 61-54.
Cincinnati received six votes in the AP Top 25 and one vote in the Coaches Poll, after not getting any love from the Coaches for weeks. Going 1-1 and still rising in the eyes of the voters points to just how important the win over SMU was, especially in terms of the NCAA Tournament bubble.
We get to see a third round of Cincinnati vs. UConn on Friday when the Bearcats will look to cap off a season sweep of the Huskies, this time in the AAC Conference Tournament. The game will tipoff at 2 PM ET on ESPN2.
