This is mainly prep work for bringing the press box down. They are covering the field with plywood to prevent damage from falling debris. I would imagine those boards stay down for the duration of construction. With quarters as tight as they are on the site the field would seem to be the only logical place they can use to store materials and equipment. The best news of all is that the official construction web cam is up and running.
