The confirmation comes from the Charlotte Observer
The Tar Heels (6-6) are going back to Charlotte for their fourth trip to the Belk Bowl. They will face Cincinnati (9-3), who won last year's Belk Bowl, on Dec. 28 at Bank of America Stadium.
The Tar Heels will enter the Belk Bowl at 6-6, just as Duke did a year ago. But the way they got to 6-6 is interesting. The Heels are a team of streaks. They lost the opener to South Carolina, rebounded against Middle Tennessee State and promptly proceeded to lose four in a row to Georgia Tech, ECU, Virginia Tech and Miami. They then went on a five game winning streak to achieve bowl eligibility, and then lost at home to the best Duke team in at least 20 years. A truly weird season if I am honest. There will be plenty of time in the coming weeks to get more in depth about the Heels.
