As is so often the case these days, his tweets tell the story.

He is no longer listed on the Bearcats online roster. So the Bearcats lose a more versatile option for the running back meeting room, but there is still plenty of depth with this group. The JUCO transfers Rodriguez Moore and Hosey Williams are both getting significant looks for the running back spots. And there is a tremendous competition going on at the fullback position with Jared Golden and E.J. Junior, both of whom appeared to be getting more camp reps with the 1's than Buckley. Unfortunately these kind of moves are common with a coaching change where guys get thrust into roles they never expected to be placed in. UC was the beneficiary of just such a transfer last week when Mekale McKay transferred to Cincinnati from Arkansas.
Deionte has three years of eligibility remaining, and a red shirt in hand. I have no idea where he will end up, but I wish him nothing but the best. Run hard Buck.
