Justin Jackson Expected To Play Tomorrow Against Louisville

and exhale

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

That Justin Jackson will play allows the great masses of Cincinnati fans to breathe easily for the first time since he went down. As per usual we have a fatalistic tendency to fear the worst, so much so that even the Irish likely mutter under their breath for Bearcats everywhere to calm the fuck down.

Still don't know if JJ will start, what his role will be, or if he has a minutes restriction. Those are all open questions heading into tomorrows crucial game. Mick will take a conservative tack with this injury, as he does with most injuries as a general rule. That probably goes double for Jackson.

That is the right approach, but it is also one that will bring heavy criticism should things go south tomorrow night. The stakes are high, a win gives the Bearcats a huge leg up in the AAC race over one of the main rivals for the throne sending the Cardinals to two conference losses, along with Memphis, with the return trip to Cincinnati still to be played this year. A loss brings the Bearcats back to the pack in the AAC with both UC and Louisville sitting with one conference loss, with Memphis, UConn and SMU lurking close behind. Should be fun.
