UC Drops out of the AP Poll

A tight loss to Rhode Island pushed the Bearcats out of the top 25.

After jumping into the first AP Top 25 of the season, the Cincinnati Bearcats are unranked once again. They only made it to the No. 24 spot in last week’s rankings, so a loss, even a competitive one against a ranked Rhode Island team, was enough to knock the 3-1 Bearcats out.

UC is still within striking distance of the rankings, receiving 39 votes this past week, the fourth-most among non-ranked teams behind California (56), Maryland (55) and Miami (44). Based on how thoroughly they beat Penn State on Sunday, you can expect that this isn’t the last the AP poll has seen of the Bearcats.

Here are the full rankings for this week.
