New Bearcat

Last night I took some friends to the game who had never been. I was pointing out the players when I noticed something strange, I had no idea who one of the players for the Bearcats was during warm ups.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Turns out he was Rob Blissitt Jr., a walk on from the Cincinnati Bearcats baseball team. Watching him warm up, he definitely looked like he knew what he was doing. He is a 6'3", 173 pound sophomore guard from Markham, IL (a small town just south of Chicago). In highschool, Blissitt averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

For the baseball team last year, he saw limited action as a freshman starting in just 4 games. He was a four time all-conference player in high school with a .354 batting average. The outfielder will need time to adjust to the college game as he hit just .158 (3/19) last season, though that is a small sample size to give too much weight to. This is the only picture I could find of Blissitt:

Welcome to the basketball team, Rob. Hopefully, we can see you on the court a few times this season.
