Week 7 AP Top 25/Coaches Poll: Houston and Memphis Represent AAC

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

Here are your Week 7 AP Top 25 and Amway Coaches Polls.

Here's this week's AP Top 25 Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll. Ohio State retains the top spot in both polls, but the first-place votes continue to go elsewhere as the Buckeyes play surprisingly close games. Baylor has jumped TCU to No. 2 in both polls and combinations of TCU, Utah, Clemson, Michigan State and LSU follow.

Michigan is rising fast after beating Northwestern 38-0. Oklahoma is falling after losing to Texas. The AAC continues to gain some recognition in the national perspective as Notre Dame outlasted Navy while Houston has finally cracked the AP Top 25 at No. 24. The Cougars have 75 votes in the Coaches Poll as the first one out. On the other end, Memphis is No. 22 in the Coaches Poll and is the second team out in the AP Top 25 Poll with 59 votes, only behind Temple's 96. The Owls have 71 votes in the Coaches Poll and remain outside the top 25.

This week's opponent, BYU, has eight votes in the AP Top 25. Navy has three in the AP and two in the Coaches Poll.
