It was never close. It was never a ball game as the Bearcats steamrolled Morgan State and captured a resounding win, 87-66.
Cincinnati was recovering from their first loss of the season against a good Butler team with .1 left on the clock. They had Morgan State as their only break from the tough Butler game and a hungry Xavier team.
After going up, 18-4, the Bearcats never looked back. They were able to shut down Morgan State's shooting early which helped them pull away.
Cincinnati was able to spread the wealth among multiple players, and get six players into double figures. Shaq Thomas led all scorers with 15 points, and added nine rebounds.
They recovered from their lack of passing against Butler to have 25 assists with Gary Clark leading the team with five. The Bearcats shot 47% from the field and held the Bears to a mere 38%.
The Bearcats dominated the boards, out rebounding the Bears 49-37 with Clark leading the team with 14 rebounds. Clark also had 14 points giving him his fourth career double double.
The Bearcats play crosstown rival Xavier coming up this Saturday, in what will be one of the most intense games yet. The game will be played at the Cintas Center.
