Daniel Cobb Is Officially A Bearcat

As crazy as it seems to think about given how outrageous the Cincinnati Bearcats receiver depth has been for the past two seasons, and will be next year, now is the time to start replenishing the ranks. One of the Bearcats newest additions is receiver Daniel Cobb

Quick Take

Daniel Cobb is a football player, that seems very reductive on a day like this, and I am aware of that, but that is kind of where you have to start with Cobb. I have no idea what position he will wind up playing for the Bearcats, though it would seem to be down to running back or wide receiver. All I know is that he is amazing with the ball in his hands, and he has to be at that size.

How long will it take him to get up to speed at whatever position he winds up playing? I don't have a good answer for that. In the first minute of the above highlight Cobb lines up in four different spots. He played receiver a year ago, and quarterback as a senior. The big question for Cobb is going to be how he adjusts to the complexity of a college passing game. This passing game in particular which is heavy on sight adjustments and reading coverage. The good news is that Cobb has some time to learn from the master (Shaq Washington), because he is bound for a red shirt like every other receiver in this class. A year to sit, and wait and watch isn't such a bad thing.

Welcome to Bearcat Nation Daniel, you and your phenomenal hair.
