Quick Take
Malik Clements is way faster than I remember from his initial commitment, he has also come a long way as a receiver. I wrote originally that he didn't look natural as a receiver, and he didn't, as a junior. As a senior he looks incredibly polished catching the football. That is obviously a good thing, but it's icing on the cake because Clements will make his bones on the defensive side of the ball.
All the things that I liked about Clements when he first committed are still there in spades. He is still a tremendous open field tackler. He still plays the running game very aggressively in the alley. He still has very loose hips which help him turn and run with receivers. The question then was what can he do in coverage. It was hard to tell then because he looked so uncomfortable playing the ball as a receiver. That question has not been put to rest, but it's not glaring question mark any longer. With his physical tools and vastly improved ball skills he should be able to figure it out.
Welcome to Bearcat Nation Malik.
