Quick Take
Speed. That is really the thing that jumps out at you when you watch Minor play for an extended period of time. Watch enough highlight tapes and you can begin to tell the difference between normal fast, and special fast. For his position Jaylyin Minor is special fast. His speed can seem to shrink the field.
That is an asset if the Bearcats plan to continue playing the defense they did last season which really stressed staying as basic as possible in personnel terms and trusting your athletes to make plays. To do that what you need are versatile linebackers who can do a little bit of everything. Rush the passer a bit, stuff the run a bit, cover the receiver in the slot a bit. Minor can do a little bit of everything, but he isn't exceptional at any one of those things. Given what the Bearcats are graduating at the position and need to replace, every contribution helps.
