College Football Playoff Rankings Released

The SEC west dominates, but you knew that already.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The biggest takeaway is that the SEC, and the SEC west in particular are our not so benevolent overlords. 5 teams from the SEC West in the top 25 including three of the four playoff participants. That would seem to be a bit unfair, but the SEC West is a pit of vipers, and they deserve every bit of respect that they are getting in this process.

For the Bearcats there are two points of interest in this, one is Ohio State who is hovering around the 15 mark. The other is ECU. The Pirates are the Bearcats last chance to impress outside observers before going into the darkness of the off season and more than likely being forgotten by everyone. ECU is the toughest team left on the schedule, but they are a team that UC can beat if their current run of form holds through the Tulane game and the bye week.
