Zach Edwards Named AAC Defensive Player Of The Week

He is the first Bearcat to be thusly honored this year

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

From the AAC release

Zach Edwards • Fr. • S • Cincinnati • Middletown, Ohio
Edwards helped Cincinnati improve to 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference as he led a Bearcat defense that limited Memphis to 232 yards of offense in a 34-21 win. Edwards had a game-high 11 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and had a fumble recovery that led to a Cincinnati touchdown on the following play. Edwards has 38 tackles with two interceptions in his freshman season.

The funny thing is that this isn't even the best game that Edwards has had, it was basically his standard performance. This kid is special.

Anthony McClung was also named to the honor roll for his 9 catch, 98 yard and 1 TD performance against the Tigers.
