Is ESPN Too Powerful?

http://m.usatoday.com/article/sports/51019966

According to USAToday, ESPN may be playing a large role in the recent round of NCAA conference jumping.  I believe it.  I also think the ESPN has a vested interest in certain marketable teams and matchups, and by involving itself in conference alignment is skirting a conflict of interest, or the appearance of impropriety.

Anytime a company has a monopoly, or in ESPN's case a near monopoly

on a product or a service they are in position to influence massive events to enhance their own bottom line. I don’t think ESPN is actively playing a role in the mechanism of college expansion. But if a conference asks a partner, and ESPN is a partner with everyone in college sports to one degree or another, how can we increase our bottom line. ESPN will tell them, and has a right to do just that.

San Diego St?

I’d rather rejoin CUSA than play in a hybrid, football only, coast to coast conference. Get a plan Whit!
