Didn’t I say “don’t say their just getting started”? In so many other words you just did. I too attended games in the Kennedy year and also through the lowly beginning of Micks years, as also some of the games now. I attend as many as my schedule allows me to which is about 3-4 games a year. And yes the team is better now than before, but yes is mediocre. I feel your questioning my fanhood. I’ll always support this team, even if it’s having to put up with Mick until we get a better coach. I’ll still speak my displeasure though..

I think that this team will always be mediocre b/c of Mick. Saying that again, a better coach would have had this team contending right now and not scratching his head saying “are we going to get into the tourney?” Especially with 8 games left and after 6 years. I don’t really care how decimated the team was 6 years ago.(I do but….) I wish people would stop using that excuse now. It’s been 6 years and UC has just as good of a chance with a good coach to land good to great players. Which I think we have some really good players, but could use some more. I just think they are not progressing they way they should. Which is due to the coaching. Why does every fan have to agree with your analysis? The way you perceive things? Isn’t that what this blog is for, different opinions?
I see no progression from last year to this year and they should progress. Matter of fact, to me they are digressing. The conference is down in talented teams this year and with the talent UC has, they should be near the top this year. Why? And don’t give me that it’s the players BS, like you did earlier. Mick manages this team. College basketball is about the only sport that the coach has a more detailed part in how the team plays. They are more involved during games that players depend on. That is why it’s crucial to get the right coach in college basketball.

All in all, I love UC and will always. But it’s not a stretch to ask why haven’t we stood out yet? Especially in a down year in the Big East, after having a mediocre-good season last year?
If Mick gets us back to that success, in a few years, I’ll be the first on this blog site to eat crow…… I promise I’ll let everyone here give me what I deserve without no recourse. But I seriously doubt I’ll be eating bird anytime soon or in the future. Although I want too more than anything. It’ll take a good run and several appearances in the tourney to get me to eat crow. That means they’ll have to contend better in the Big East in order to do that.
