Butch Jones Is At It Again, Malcolm Murray Commits.

I fully realize that this little blog of mine has become increasingly recruiting centric over the past week. I know that is not what some people expect, but there is a good reason for it. First and foremost while the Basketball team is back to kicking ass and taking names, half the time I have no idea who's ass is being kicked and when a team takes names, I would, at the very least, like to recognize said names. As the basketball team heads into the meat of the non conference schedule, or what passes for meat given UC's piss poor strength of schedule, hovering around 330 out of a possible 360 or so the focus will be where it belongs, given the time of the year. However I am shedding light on recruiting because Butch Jones has been on an absolute tear in the month of December, last weekends official visits have resulted in 5 verbal commitments, all of them at positions of need and all of them evaluated at 3 stars by at least one of the major recruiting services.

The most recent  verbal is Malcolm Murray, a 6'2" Safety out of Mount San Antonio Community College in Walnut California who visited for the Pitt game. You can probably just pencil him in as the opening day starter at one of the Safety spots come September. He has that much talent. Murray has had something of an odyssey in coming to Clifton. He was not recruited out of Junipero Serra High School in Gardena California in 2008. He wound up enrolling at Mount SAC where he developed into a phenomenal safety prospect as his youtube, scout and rivals can attest. He committed to Oklahoma State last year but later asked for and was granted his release and wound up back at Mount SAC for this season. Now he is a Bearcat signed, sealed and delivered. He will join the team at the start of the next quarter in January he will have two years of eligibility as Bearcat. More info and some highlights from this season after the jump.
