Its mid june and the commitments are starting to pour in. Not really, but still. The Bearcats had their annual football camps for Juniors and Seniors over the weekend, or more accurately the start of the camps and they have netted two commitments from Ohio based players including local stud Rasheen Jones from Northwest High School.
Jones has a lot of similarities to Preston Brown a Northwest grad and one time Bearcat commit now playing in Louisville. He is really massive for a high school linebacker standing 6'3" and weighing 230 pounds. He plays outside linebacker for the Knights and will probably start at SAM with the Bearcats. Jones has the frame to add serious weight and could move to defensive end when all is said and done. That is one posability, but he could just wind up as a jumbo linebacker with the Bearcats for a core that is for the most part built for speed rather than power.
Jones has good range and can make plays far outside the tackle box, a necessity for a linebacker in this system. He also is a capible pass rusher with a solid speed rush and good hand use when needed. Jones had offers from Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville and West Virginia among others. Video after the jump.
